About The Free Wilderness Survival Program for Outdoor Enthusiasts
The purpose of this program is to make our community safer, introduce people to what Optimism Bias is and how Optimism Bias can lead you into dangerous situations.
This program is useful for hikers and people who like outdoor activities but are not looking to learn every detailed aspect of survival priorities. It is for those who are keen to enjoy nature in a safe way. Our instructors cover the following topics:
Proper planning of outdoor activities
Essential items, tools and skills to have
Survival tactics if you get lost
Survival priorities
A safe place for your shelters
Wildlife
Critical thinking and thinking forward in the wilderness
Location
The Free Wilderness Survival Program for Outdoor Enthusiasts is located in Metchosin on Vancouver Island. The address is 1258 Neild Rd, Victoria, BC, Canada.
Prerequisites
The minimum age of participants is 17 years old. All participants under the age of 19 have to be accompanied by their guardians.
Requirements
Clothes fit for weather conditions. If it is rainy, you should wear a rain jacket and pants. There is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing.
